Mountain Tails Pet Boutique is owned by locals, Mike & Anne Scarpa. They take great pride in serving the Crested Butte community and love to see everyone’s dogs (and cats) at the shop. Mike and Anne have 2 fur babies of their own Luke and Harley, German Shepards, plus their 2 daughters have Skye, Koda and Cheyenne, from left to right.
Mountain Tails is managed on a day to day basis by our awesome local shop manager, Brandon Johanns, and his pup, Aura. Brandon has been with Mountain Tails for over 8 years.
Mountain Tails has been serving both the local and tourist community for over 20 years. We are simply crazy about our animals and love to share that passion…right here in the majesty of CB!
If you’ve never been to Crested Butte, you have a real treat in store (no pun intended)! Set among towering peaks, our beautiful (and historic) Victorian town is deep in the heart of the rocky mountains at close to 9000 feet above sea level. With wide open meadows leading to endless hiking and skiing opportunities in our vast mountain ranges, this is not only a dream come true for the outdoor enthusiast, but a true Shangri-La for our pets!

At Mountain Tails we strive to provide the very best for our furry friends. Whether that be locally processed raw elk, eco-friendly toys or a custom upholstered bed that any human would be jealous of…we spoil our pets and aren’t afraid to say so!
We’re always doing our best to keep our customers informed of all aspects of the pet industry in an ongoing effort to not only keep their animals happy, but also healthy. If we don’t have something you’re looking for, odds are we can get it pretty quickly and we love doing research on products that are new to us.
THE EXTRA MILE
If we don’t carry something that you are looking for whether it be food, treats, toys, bedding, etc…please know we can place special orders for you and your furry friend. Special orders usually take about 2-4 days to arrive so just ask our shop staff if you need anything special that we do not carry.
And don’t forget, if you’re on your way to visit the Butte and need something for your stay, give us a call and we’ll have your pet’s favorite goodies (food, supplements, treats et) waiting upon your arrival.

DIRECTIONS, ETC
We are located at 506 Elk Avenue in Crested Butte, CO. Take Route 50 into Gunnison then take Route 135 North up to Crested Butte which is about a 30 minute drive. When you enter town you will see the main 4 corners intersection of Elk Ave and Route 135. Take a left onto Elk Ave and we are up Elk Ave about 50 yards on your left.
